My dc++ crashes and is old (0.674)

Asked by Jose Luis

Hello friends, for a few days my DC++ sends me a message like this "DC++ just encountered a fatal bug", I have an old version 0.674 (17 years old), in the channels that I am they tell me that it is better to keep this version , but the bug closes the program and doesn't let me continue. I have windows 10 (64 bits), which version would I have to download to be able to continue as before? I would appreciate your help, thank you very much!

Those who tell you that it is better to keep this version are living in the past. They suggest you use network facing software that is pretty unstable, insecure, vulnerable to remote crashes and not even tested on Windows 10.
It's the same if you try to use a several years old web browser - you'll prone to attacks and many web sites aren't working.

You have to choose: you get the latest stable version that is tested and safe to use on Win 10 or dwell in the past, but if you choose the latter then you'll face the consequences sooner or later.

After 20+ years we are still working on providing safe, up to date versions of DC++.
It is available as a free download in the official home page : https://dcplusplus.sourceforge.io/
