DC++ 7.05+ woes
Let me start by saying I've been a fan of DC++ for years now. I've not found a program that even gets close to matching the usefulness of DC++. However, the latest versions of DC++ (since the big GUI change) have had me pulling my hair out. I'll state some of the reasons why:
-The new TAB system:
I CAN'T STAND IT! Whenever I click a hub in the top row, it moves to the bottom. It's like the tabs are "running away" from me. I liked how you could move tabs around in the old version and keep them where you wanted them. The new version drives me nuts when all the hubs change positions every time you click them. I just want them to STAY PUT! Argh!
-The new "Connections" window:
Is it REALLY necessary to show the "chunks" rather than the overall progress of a download? I know there is a "Download" window as well, but it lacks some important information! For example, the Download window does not show the User, HUB, or uploads. I have to go to the connection window for that, which only shows me the "chunks". It's like I now have to switch back and forth between two windows just to see all the information I want. Ugh!
-The "Finished Downloads" window (and uploads):
Now that DC++ displays "chunks" instead of downloads, the "finished downloads" window has become useless. Rather than showing the individual 20-something files that have finished downloading, it will show something like 2,345 items. Good luck finding the file you want in THAT list! Seriously, is it necessary to have EVERY SINGLE chunk in that list? I don't want that! I simply want the individual files like the old version!
These are the biggest issues and I'll just stick to these in this topic for the time being. I keep telling myself that I'm just not used to the changes, but it's been months now, and I STILL don't like them. The changes really are that much worse than the original! If any of these can be changed back to the original via an option or setting, please let me know!
