DC++

searching

Hi ther was wondering if anyone can help me.My dc++ used to work ok but i never used it for a while and now it doesnt work atall.I can connect to public hubs ok, but when i type in ay 'oasis' and then click search nothing comes up.The only thing i notice doesnt move is the 'U' in the right hand bottom corner.I've looked at my firewall and it is permiting dc++ as a rule so i dont no what else to do.Has any one got any ideas

From the information provided it sounds like you need to do port forwarding for your router and/or configure dc++'s active settings. As you haven't used dc++ for a while you may have the incorrect external IP in your DC++ settings also. Post back with more information and at what stage you are at

How wouls i go about doing this.I'm not that great with computers.I use norton internet security

What firewall are you using? Have a look at http://www.dslreports.com/faq/dc/3._Setting_up

Make sure your IP is right,
that your firewall and/or router is set up properly (if you do have a router use this site: http://www.portforward.com./english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm )
and that your not blocked because you are connecting from an university or such.
