What are slots?

I cannot connect. I have 8MB required but I have this message:

<rezHub_cmd> You havn't got enough slots open, you've got 1 and the minimum allowed is: 3

can anyone help please?

The slots represents the maximum number of uploads that your client can have at the same time. You currently have 1. The hub that you are connecting to requires a minimum of 3 to let you in. Go to settings and change it to 3 if you want to enter that hub ( or whatever value you desire).
