Since hal is deprecated, isn't udev a better choice?

Now X.org, Gnome and others are free of hal. Only Kde seems to lag. So the question is "isn't udev a better choice for ClamTk?

Yes, udev is a better choice. I wanted to start working with devices, though, and hal is easy to figure out for our purposes. Don't worry; hal is just temporary. It'll be removed soon and swapped with a better solution.

Just a quick update: 4.28 has been rewritten to use udev.

Thanks for excellent support. I'll update the gentoo ebuild for ClamTk in sunrise overlay, as soon as 4.28 released.
