Delete old SSO account

Asked by Dieter Werthmuller

I have an old, unused SSO account, that I would like to delete completely, but I could not figure out how. I wrote to ubuntuone support. They could not help me, but said I shall file a Launchpad Answer instead (see mail below).

My old SSO account I want to delete is for
email: <email address hidden>
name: old_unused

Many Thanks
Dieter

We can not delete your SSO account. I think you will need to file a Launchpad

I have the same problem, I have two main email accounts and ended up with one SSO account for each email, and now I want them to be merged into one. I tried adding one of the emails to the other account but it complains about the email being already taken.

Luckily my launchpad account is already configured to login with the two SSO accounts and has the two e-mails configured correctly.

Dieter, SSO account deletion is temporarily unavailable, but your account will go into the delete queue.

David, we can merge your two SSO accounts if you like. To do so, pick one account to be primary, then send me a request including the account data. In more detail, this means:

  - Choosing a primary account: Each account may have third-party site accounts associated with it, and you can only keep the accounts associated with one SSO account. Go to each account and look at the list of sites recently logged into, to help you decide which account you want to keep. You will lose access to the sites associated with your other SSO account(s), so choose wisely.

  - Sending a request: Using the address on one of your SSO accounts, send email to <email address hidden> with a subject that mentions "SSO" and "merge". In the message, include the email addresses of both SSO accounts. Be sure to indicate which account you want to keep, and that you have reviewed and approved the list of sites you will lose access to on the other account. When you get an automated reply with your ticket number, reply to it with the address used for your other SSO account to verify you have access to both addresses.

Then we can get your two SSO accounts merged. In the future, the process will be simpler and automatic, but this is what we've got for now.

Can you help with this problem?
