Is it possible to use an @ubuntu.com address for the Ubuntu Single Sign-On service?

Asked by Sense Egbert Hofstede

Due to the way the @ubuntu.com email address for Ubuntu Members is set up it is not possible to set it as the contact address for Launchpad accounts; mail sent to the @ubuntu.com email address would end in an infinite loop.

Is it possible to use @ubuntu.com email addresses as the default contact address for the Ubuntu Single Sign-On service, or is that going to cause problems? Would it start to cause problems once the Ubuntu Single Sign-On service would be a way to log in to Launchpad?

Technically it's not a problem for the Ubuntu SSO or Launchpad login services in isolation but if a consuming site breaks with certain email addresses then the problem would need to be raised with that project. I discussed a possibly related issue with flacoste from Launchpad the other day and they have apparently made improvements to the way they handle emails from SSO which would previously have thrown an error so it may be worth trying to see if this works for you.
