System language English, clock calendar in foreign language

Asked by Jason Costa

I am based overseas in Lithuania (Europe). My system language is set to English and my clock with calendar defaults to Lithuanian. I want English as the calendar language but cannot change the clock calendar language. I have changed every setting possible, restarted the computer, and it will default to the Lithuanian (local language). If I set my location to New York, the clock calendar language still stays Lithuanian. I am guessing that Ubuntu sees a local IP from Lithuania and refuses to change the language on the clock. I've turned off "time in auto detected location" along with changes to other settings without success.

Open the "Language Support" menu (from Dash) and make all the updates (languages installation IF needed).

Then you can select the US language and "Apply System Wide" for the calendar - login screen.. etc.

See the picture below

It will need a logout - login for changes to take effect.
