app exit on linux lethargic

Asked by Scott Furry

CPU: AMD64 Bulldozer v1 (6core)
Distro: funtoo
Kernel: 3.16.2-3
python2.7 --version Python 2.7.9
BleachBit version 1.4

After a scan/clean, I selected Menu->file->Quit
application seems to do nothing for almost a minute then finally shuts down.

Repeated above but started application on cmd line to get debug output.
Got following message when application finally terminated.
/usr/lib/python-exec/python2.7/bleachbit:45: Warning: Source ID 337 was not found when attempting to remove it gtk.main()
If I repeat again, but not wait for the time out (click close box on window frame), I get the following:
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/lib64/python2.7/site-packages/bleachbit/GUI.py", line 686, in <lambda>
    self.window.connect('destroy', lambda w: gtk.main_quit())
RuntimeError: called outside of a mainloop
/usr/lib/python-exec/python2.7/bleachbit:45: Warning: Source ID 353 was not found when attempting to remove it
  gtk.main()
Something seems broken here.

Does it happen with fewer option selected---for example, just deep scan, just system, or just thumbnails?

I ran app several times with each iteration I changed one of the options under Deep Scan.
Thumbs.db did not exhibit bad behavior - program exited normally.

However,
Options [Temporary Files], [Backup Files] and [.DS_Store] all showed similar behavior.
I would select the option. Perform the scan with that option enabled. Select "Clean".
Exiting the app after completion of scan/clean would become delayed. After a timeout an error message similar to above would appear (although with a different ID # each time).

The key to this behavior is that a scan AND clean are executed. Exit, when selected, will then timeout.

I spoke too soon.
Thumbs.db also exhibits problem behavior. I just forgot to run the clean after scanning.

So, yes.
All items under Deep Scan, when selected individually, confirm the orginal observations.
Scan->Clean->Exit leads to a timeout w/ error message about an unfound ID.

Scott, I was cleaning out my inbox and saw this again. Bug 1406337 is marked closed. If you still see this issue with BleachBit version 1.17 or later, open a ticket ticket in GitHub from here https://www.bleachbit.org/help

Can you help with this problem?
