Change labels?

Asked by Steffen Sledz

Is it possible to change the label information before restoring the data (at least to prefix them)?

e.g. "foo/bar" to "prefix/foo/bar"

Hi, Steffen.

The "label" file can be directly edited to modify the assigned labels for messages.

I recommend a work around that doesn't require tampering with the backup data: the --label argument (or the "Restore to Label" option in gui.py) to restore to a specific label of your choosing (e.g., "Restore2011Jan").

Then after the restore you could use gmail search to find all messages in both labels:

    "label:Restore2011Jan label:foo/bar"

and then add an additional label, "prefix/foo/bar", to the results.

The option --label is available with the latest version in lp:~cfraire/backup-gmail/devel
