Broken pipe ?

Asked by Philetjosie

I get the following error with Back in Time, but It does not give me any clue of what is wrong:

[E] Error: rsync: writefd_unbuffered failed to write 4 bytes to socket [sender]: Broken pipe (32)
[E] Failed to take snapshot 25/02/2011 19:13:03 !!!

I already have successfully made few backup, but since few days, I always get this error message. Anything I can do ?
Thanks a lot.

This are the only lines containing errors ?
Can you check the full log ?

Dan

Hello Dan,
this was lines of the errors log. I haven't kept the complete log.
However, I have tried again this evening, and this time, the backup as been performed successfully.
If I get the same problem again, then I will give you the complete log file.
Thanks for your help.

There seems to be no answer or solution to this...?

I now have the same problem:

========== Take snapshot (profile 1): Fri Mar 9 17:36:18 2012 ==========

[E] Error: rsync: writefd_unbuffered failed to write 4 bytes to socket [sender]: Broken pipe (32)
[E] Failed to take snapshot 03/09/12 17:36:18 !!!

It seems that BackInTime can't handle a 50 GB virtuel disk (the file WinXP2.vdi). I don't know if it because it's too big. The virtual disk is intact and has no errors.

The full log (without all the files):

========== Take snapshot (profile 1): Fri Mar 9 17:36:18 2012 ==========
