Cannot add Launch Items to bar.

I tried your two solutions before even coming here for help. This is not letting us drag shortcuts from menu to the bar nor do they show up when I add them from inside the preferences. Please help and not just refer me to your FAQs like you have everyone else.

I am using Ubuntu 9.04

This is GNOME, and I have followed your FAQs to update my repositories and key. Did an update and no change.

You need the Launcher/Taskmanager applet activated in order to add launchers to the dock via drag/drop. Make sure that you drag into a blank space of said applet.

Thank you, I removed it to clean up my dock for space since I could get to it by right clicking and I figured it would be something I would not need much. However I do not know what I have changed but it is not showing up on the dock but is in the applets list of active applets. Which I like and it all working fine.
