How can we provide a fix to an AWN applet? (i.e. weather applet)

So it is known that the weather applet mid-2011 stopped working due to a change in the weather network's API and the key expired.

How can we provide a fix that makes it into the awn-testing PPA so that everyone can automatically enjoy the fix?

Things have been very quiet on the awn front it seems. I have a bit of time over the next week or so, which would include applying and pushing a patch if it's posted as a bug.

Can't make any promises that I'm going to have a bunch of time for anything else but I can at least do that.
