Asked by k_chupe

this has been the third time that i have installed awn, and once more a disappointment. i added awn to sessions so it starts up when i log on, while logging on awn dock appears with my icons showing up, but then the icons all disappear.

(FYI, your original question summary wasn't a very appropriate summary)

We need to know the following about your system:
* How you installed Awn (either compiled from source code or from a binary package from a third-party repository)
* The exact version of Awn - that is, if you have a development or bzr version of Awn installed, the bzr revision number
* Your Linux distribution (and version)
* Whether your system is 32 or 64 bit

i installed from the tutorial found @ http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=385981
bzr version from the site above
gutsy gibbon/ubunt 7.10
32bit
atx motherboard
nvidia graphics card
512 ram
processor speed 1.7GH
and i think that's about it. also if you check my other posts you will see that i've had several problems with awn. about the time i thought i had a fix, i was wrong. i am a newbster to linux, but am trying to get it down. thanks

Does the issue occur if you manually start awn after login and session startup? There are a variety of issues that occur if awn starts too early in desktop session startup and you may need to delay it's startup somewhat at login.

Try to change the command run on startup to "sleep 10 && avant-window-manager" (no quotes)
