Switching Virtual Desktops instead of fetching the Window?

Hi,

Have a look at this:

I am currently at Virtual Desktop #1 and F-Spot is running.

When switching to Virtual Desktop #2 the F-Spot icon is still in my awn-dock, because I have "Show window from all viewports" enabled.

Everything fine so far.

But now, when I click on the F-Spot icon it "fetches" the F-Spot window over to Desktop two, instead of taking me to desktop one.

This is especially annoying, when you have your desktop sorted by topics as this mixes things up.

This would also be the way, the new Leopard docks behaves, imho.

Don't you think this should be the actual behaviour, or at least an optional behaviour?

Have you tried with other programs?

My default (current) behaviour is switching to the active desktop (I even see the cube rotating..)

Yes, I get the same behavious with all programs I tried.

Maybe this is because of me using xcompmgr instead of compiz?

Does this behavior occur when you use compiz?

xcompmgr is a very dated program (if I remember correctly, the last time the source code was changed was in 2005), so it may not work properly with a modern desktop.

Ohh, yes. With Compiz it is just running fine :)
