how to configure under DE without gconf

I'd like to know how the configuration files are organized and what to edit in order to be able to configure awn under KDE.

And it would be nice to know how to make it react to the new changes, restarting AWN doesn't do anything... restarting X does.

For the time being, AWN requires Gnome desktop libraries and the GConf library/daemon in order to run. However, I am working on a branch of the code that does not require either Gnome desktop libraries or GConf. The only Gnome library that will be required is libwnck. This branch is in the "Code" tab named "desktop-agnostic". I am currently working on making GConf support optional.

As to reacting to new changes, GConf has facilities to do that automatically already, so it should work (in theory).
