using apport when program does not run properly but does not crash either

Asked by Susan Cragin

Can I use Apport to backtrace a specific program when I know the program will not crash but does not run, either?
I am trying to use apport to generate useful reports for the WINE project.
I install WINE, then the program (Dragon NaturallySpeaking7) and then the program does not run properly.
I am not a programmer, but am trying to be a good tester. I can send reports directly to the developer in charge of the product, and would like to be doing everything I can for him.
Also, the program is critical for Ubuntu's handicapped accessibility.

No, apport can be used only for crashes. If you want to have a traceback, download the debug version of the application.

Can you help with this problem?
